The internet access at the hotel has been fixed. I am very happy. Checking in and reading the encouraging comments from everyone is such an encouragement and it was a bummer to not be able to do it as often. But the biggest bummer was not being able to webcam with my family. Every night I get to see the girls (and now Todd). I have also webcammed with my parents. I really missed that contact!
So, we have continued to experience Medellin in the meantime. Before Todd left we went to Botero's Plaza. Botera is a very famous Colombian artist known mostly for his sculptures. His outstanding feature in all of his art is that the people or animals are very, very fat. The plaza has multiple original sculptures from Botero.
Afterwards we walked to Bolivar's Plaza (credited with leading the Independence of Colombia) and saw the most important cathedral in Medellin. It was very beautiful with wonderful mosiacs.

On Sunday, Todd left and the girls and I went to lunch at the interpreter's house. His wife is from Belgium, so the dinner was a mix of Belgium and Colombian cooking. It was very good and a nice relaxing afternoon.
Monday the interpreter took the girls and I to a park. That afternoon we had one of the loudest thunderstorms I had ever heard. I was trying to be brave for the girls, but it really was sort of scary! I think because of the weather and being homesick, I was a little bummed and suddenly I was surprised by the appearance of the interpreter and his wife!! They wanted to know if I wanted to go to the mall with the girls. That was such a wonderful blessing!

At the mall there was a play area (think Chuck E Cheese without pizza). The girls had so much fun. Afterward we got treats and headed back to the hotel in much better moods.
We all slept much better last night--and longer than we had in a while. Today has been really good. We went to the zoo this morning and now we are just hanging out at the hotel, although the interpreter mentioned the possibility of his wife coming by to take me to another mall this afternoon.

We continue to hear that our final papers should be signed this week which means we will head to Bogota on Monday! Praise God!!

Love, Mom
I'm enjoying following along with you on your journey. Great pictures today! I hope you can leave soon. I remember how it got to wait near the end of our stay in Colombia.
Thats great news! The courts in Medellin are known for being fairly quick...but this is faster than usual. I think we probably could have been done in a total of 3 1/2 weeks if we had not taken extra time so you are a little ahead of our schedule.
It is all happening so quickly! Bogata is one step closer to home. Have a great day!
We are praying for some speedy signatures on your paperwork! SENTENCIA SENTENCIA SENTENCIA...I can't wait to see those words on your post!!! It's coming soon, keep your chin up and be encouraged that you will be home and with all of the girls and Todd soon!
