Day 7: Botanical Gardens

If you haven't noticed, we have an awesome interpreter! He takes us on an outing every day. Today's we went to the Botanical Gardens. The gardens were so beautiful! The day was so pleasant and strolling among the flowers was very relaxing.

After our trip to the gardens, we went to Carefour (Wal-mart). We ate lunch at the food court there (a hamburger and fries!) and then shopped for some more snacks and a few items of clothing for Yuly. It is hard to find pants for her, but we bought two pairs of jeans.

Tomorrow is Integracion. This is a meeting with our family, our lawyer and government officials. At this meeting, we express our intent to continue with the adoption. They will ask all of us (including Yuly) how things are going. If the meeting goes well, our case will be entered into the court system.

We expect it to go well. We continue to notice positive changes in Yuly. Pouting sessions are shorter and further between. Her calling us "Mama" and "Papa" seems much more natural. She has always enjoyed snuggles, but she seems to initiate them more. As I type this, Yuly and Riza are sitting side by side working on art projects. It is a joy to watch :)

I had no idea you had to state your desire to adopt her over again and then it became more :official". I guess that is a good thing, as some families may not meld together as naturally and as well as you all have with Yuly. So glad it was a positive experience! And praise the Lord for a great interpreter!
