Today was huge for our family!
First, it was our oldest daughter's first day of high school (and first day in public school). She has been excited all summer, but Sunday night she was quite nervous. However, we talked and prayed through it and she was doing much better this morning. She had a great first day. She was especially relieved that she had at least one friend in every class.
Second, it was our middle daughter's first day of middle school. She was also a little nervous about changing classes and meeting new teachers, but she also enjoyed her first day. Her favorite aspects of school are (1) eating lunch with all of her friends and (2) having a locker--she enjoyed decorating her locker and now she likes putting notes in her friends' lockers.
Finally, my mom, dad, and grandmother moved into their new home which is exactly 1/2 mile from us. I have never lived in the same town as my grandmother, and haven't lived in the same town as my parents since I married. They left a lot of friends and a great church in Illinois to be near us--and we are ever so grateful and excited.
So, we are celebrating a lot of firsts. And look forward to another first...traveling to another country and bringing home a daughter!
