I (Kimberly) am in a study called "When Wallflowers Dance" by Angela Thomas. While I was on my way to the study this morning, I called Todd and we discussed calling our home study agency to check on the status of our study. I spoke briefly about my continued struggle to wait on God (and balancing the waiting with making sure we are doing everything we need to be doing.) Anyway, the lesson today was "Until it's your turn." Angela shared (via DVD) that waiting for God is sometimes like waiting in line--sometimes we are waiting because it is just not our turn. It doesn't mean that we are in the wrong line. She proposed that we (I) do the following while we wait our turn:
1. Stay with the Lord (John 15:1-11. Beautiful verses when Jesus urges us to remain with Him.)
2. Entrust to Him whatever we have deemed valuable (our precious, but unknown, daughter)
3. Trust that He is able to keep it (her) safe until it is our turn.
4. Become the woman who is ready to be called up (I need to continue to pray, study God's word, and read about adoption issues so I will be ready when the time comes).
5. Become and remain a woman of prayer.
6. Stand.
What a powerful, timely message for me!! We can see God's hand a lot of ways, but one that always amazes me is when He speaks so perfectly and clearly to me through something that was written awhile ago by someone who doesn't know me or what I am going through. And that when they were planning the class, today's lesson was this very one that I needed to hear. Only God.
So, I continue to wait and anticipate when God will say "Next! Its your turn."
