But I have also had a chance to see God's love and to reflect on:
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. 1 John 4:18
and
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
There are so many awesome verses about "Fear not." In fact, a friend wrote that there are 365 "Fear not" verses in the Bible--one for every day of the year.
So, as we celebrate Valentine's day, we reflect on our family and on God's perfect love. We want to show all of our children perfect love. Of course, we fail, but it is our goal and desire to show them this type of love in our home and for them each to know God's perfect love in a personal way.

Great post. Confronting fears is difficult, yet seems to be part of the adoption process for sure. I really liked the verses you chose. I am a big-time worrier so I need to memorize some of these and keep them in mind when I start letting my mind wonder. What does the chocolate kiss trail lead to? That sounds like a fun tradition. Looks like you guys had a great Valentine's day.
