We have communicated via e-mail and voice mail with the adoption agent at the Jacksonville USCIS, although at this point it has been one-sided. Our appointment in Jacksonville is on Thursday. As of right now our plan is to drop the older girls off at school and the head to J'ville. We don't have a plan yet for Riza. We had planned to have a good friend of ours who lives in J'vill take care of Riza during the appointment, but she just got a full-time job. We have been praying that she would get one (she recently returned from a tour in Iraq with the Navy), so that is exciting! But we would appreciate any and all prayers regarding the trip to J'ville. In our selfishness, we ask to not have to go to J'ville, but if we are required to go, we know that God has a plan in all of it.
Also, our first visit with our social worker who will be writing our home study went very well. The girls were awesome in helping get the house ready. A friend of mine who has a daughter Riza's age (adopted from China) kept Riza for a couple hours in the morning so I could vacuum and mop and do the last minute cleaning. Todd and I have our individual interviews next week.
In addition to the adoption-related work, it is recital time for the older girls which means we are busy with rehearsals and performances. It is a very fun time. And then suddenly summer (and no school!) will be here!!
