Springing Ahead

I need to Spring the blog ahead from where I left it last... September.

Here is an update on our family :)

Todd and Kimberly: Not much to report...Same old, same old.

Audrey: Heading down the final stretch of high school! Hard to believe that we are about to have a high school graduate in the house. She will begin taking classes at the local community college this summer. She is prayerfully considering her next step, but her heart's desire is to be a missionary in a Hispanic country. We're excited to see where God will lead her.

Savanna: Enjoying her first year of high school. She remained at Community Christian School and has really grown spiritually and academically. She continues to take Irish dance classes and guitar. She also was on the school's volleyball and inaugural track teams.

Yuly: We have had SO MUCH FUN with home school. Seriously. I had no idea it would be such a blast!! She has worked very hard and is doing very well. We've had the opportunity to take some fun field trips...like to the beach where we discussed again the concepts that we studied in biology. Fun and learning!!

Riza: She has had a terrific year in kindergarten. She has a creative teacher that crams a lot into a school day and Riza loves it all! She is doing well with her reading. She goes to school at our church which has only a preschool and kindergarten, so she will have to go somewhere else next year. We've decided to add her to the homeschool mix! Riza is incredibly silly and will make the school year much more...interesting.

Other highlights:
Yuly and Riza used to share a room. Then we split them up. The latest move has been to trade their rooms. Riza had a pink room and wanted a green room. Yuly had a blue room and wanted a pink room. Moving rooms meant we had to paint only one room. Plus, it gave us a chance to do some major cleaning.

We went to Wakulla Springs State Park and we got to see the manatees (it still amazes me that anyone ever thought these huge sea cows looked like mermaids!).

We camped at Disney and went to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and to Animal Kingdom. The campground was awesome. Next time we'll try to sit still and enjoy it more.

And just this week we traveled to Jacksonville for spring break and camped near the beach. We even took a trip down to St. Augustine to check out the oldest town in the USA. We had a great time together. God granted us lots of patience and laughter.

I continue to be amazed at the amazing privilege God has given us to parent these beautiful girls. He continues to extend me wisdom and mercy as I work to be the best wife and mother I can be. And He has blessed us abundantly with lots of fun, laughter, and special family times.
