As the summer drew to a close, Savanna was busy with volleyball, although she managed to take time off to go with Audrey up to Missouri for a week with their grandparents. Grandma and Grandpa came all the way to Florida to pick them up, and then we met them a week later in Chattanooga to pick up the girls. While we were there we managed to get in a little swimming and a trip to the Tennessee Aquarium. On the way back home, we stopped to get a snack at the first Chick-fil-a...the Dwarf House. It was so fun!! (and yes, I went through the little dwarf door). We are huge Chick-fil-a fans at our house and it was really neat to see where it all started (and getting milk shakes made it all the more sweeter!)

Toward the end of summer, I had a dinner party and invited other adoptive moms. It was really neat and quite an eclectic group. Moms with families formed through adoption, moms with biological kids and adopted kids, older child and infant adoptions, domestic and foreign adoptions, multiple and single adoptions, families with kids from Asia, Europe, and South America (guess who?). There were lots of differences, but also a very strong bond.
Then, suddenly (or so it seemed), it was time for back to school shopping, going to open houses, and preparing for school. This year I have four girls in four different schools. Wow. Riza is going to school for the first time. It is all very exciting.

On the first day of school for the three oldest, everyone got ready for school and then Yuly decided that she didn't want to go because she was "dizzy." She relaxed in bed the whole day (it was actually kind of fun and funny. I would go "check" on her and sit on her bed and we would talk and share stories. When I would get up to go do more housework, she would lay in bed and sing). The next day she went right off to school and has enjoyed it every day. She is nervous/excited about learning to read. But, once again, God has been faithful and placed her with the perfect teacher.

We've had a great summer, although, honestly, I'm looking forward to having a routine. Right now we are in the midst of volleyball season and then Yuly wants to play Upward Basketball next month...And the fun never ends!!
Oh, and by the way...the month ended with my birthday and my dad's birthday. I'm 42 in case you are curious. But I'm not authorized to tell my dad's age ;)

Oh the fun of summer. We're still smack dab in the middle of it and loving it.
Delighted to meet you today. I hope you don't mind if I splash around to get to know you. This looks like a refreshing spot to slip off my shoes and dip my toes.
Splashin,
Sara
