April

We all are continuing to settle in to being a family of 6. Sometimes I just can't believe that I have four beautiful daughters!

We had a wonderful Easter. The girls enjoyed dyeing eggs.

Thanks to a miscommunication between Mom and Dad, the girls ended up dyeing 5 dozen eggs. The girls had a fun looking for them--although we didn't find all of them. I guess the smell will catch up with us eventually. Audrey, Savanna, and Riza all enjoy teaching Yuly about traditions.

Yuly got her first report card and it was great! I'm so proud of her. School is challenging, but fun to her and she works hard. She had her first "spelling tests." The teacher read the letters of the alphabet and she had to write the letters. She got two 100s! :)

The other girls have been busy, too. Savanna was on crew for the Middle and High School plays at her school. You should have seen how smoothly she moved props--even in the dark. She is now busy preparing for her guitar recital next month. Audrey went on her first date and has been busy with ballet recital preparations. She is also busy with Student Government activities. She turns 16 next month (gulp!) and Mom is excited to have another driver in the house for transporting to all these activities.

The weather has been beautiful. The little girls enjoy playing outside. Sometimes Mom even convinces them to have fun washing her van ;)

We have continued to see huge gains in Yuly's overall adjustment. Temper tantrums are coming much less frequently. I think there were only two in April. And even then, the duration is much shorter. She has missed Colombia more this month--she says she is sad that she is not in Colombia. Comfort foods and pictures from Colombia help--as well as just talking about it. (I found a great on-line grocery store with Colombian food. www.amigofoods.com). Last week in church she got to go the Blast Store to purchase toys with points that she has earned in church. She bought things for each of her sisters. This is HUGE. I'm so grateful to see her sharing more.

Now we are planning our summer--swim lessons and a trip to Disney are two of the highlights. The big girls are also going to Costa Rica on a mission trip and I am excited for that. Hope you are all having an awesome spring.

Oh what beautiful pics! I went to Costa Rica on my very first mission trip when I was in 8th grade. The girls are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! It's a beautiful country and the people will remind them much of Colombia. Disney is going to be a blast, can't wait for pics of your trip!

The girls are beautiful! Ours boys talk about Colombia and do express missing some thiings - primarily the friends they had. Keep talking about it and looking at the pictures. We got some "comfort" foods recently and that was a big hit especially with our oldest son.

You're doing a great job!
