Spring Break!

This year we headed to the Great Smoky Mountains for Spring Break. We rented an awesome house with 6 master suites which was a perfect fit for our family of 6, both sets of our parents, and my brother, his wife and son (incidentally we have only one sibling between us, so this pretty much accounted for our whole extended family).

We had a lot of fun. The absolute highlight was the hour-long horseback ride through the mountains. It was amazingly beautiful and we all had tons of fun riding. My dad (a former farmer) joined us for the trek.

Other fun times included
  • playing HillyBilly golf...just as cheesy as it sounds :)
  • going to Ripley's aquarium
  • the little girls earning Jr. Ranger badges
  • touring Cades Cove, especially seeing the working mill and church with one entrance for males and one for females

  • Todd and I going on a hike with the big girls and a few other brave members of our group to Grotto Falls

  • (this is us behind the falls)

  • playing Foosball
  • sipping coffee on the porch and gazing and the mountains
  • lots of time to connect with family
  • having many opportunities to remind the girls about God's majesty, His faithfulness, His creativity...
