Thanksgiving

I don't know where to begin. We have so much for which to be thankful. God has blessed our family abundantly. Todd and I have been blessed with 20 years of a wonderful marriage. We have 4 beautiful daughters. We have wonderful extended family and enjoy great relationships with both sets of parents and my brother and his wife (we have only one sibling between us so I guess it is good that we get along). Todd and I both have jobs--and jobs that we enjoy. We have a comfortable home, plenty of clothes and food. We belong to a wonderful church. We have an awesome network of friends both here in Florida and across the US...

This month has given us even more things for which we are thankful. We are so thankful for all the support we have received from our friends as we are making the transition to a family of six. I am thankful to new friends we have met (including a girl at Yuly's future school who is bilingual), Frank, our ESL tutor (courtesy of a local church's ministry), and the Speake family who brought Yuly a whole basket of Colombian treats (like chicken-flavored potato chips). We are thankful for how relatively smooth the transition has gone. Temper tantrums are now more like pouts and even those are becoming less frequent. Riza and Yuly are both learning how to share a little better, too. Audrey and Savanna are a huge help with the girls and have been a real blessing in smoothing out some of the rough times--and for giving me a break when I need one.

We had a great Thanksgiving Day. On Wednesday the girls and I made turkey place cards for the Thanksgiving dinner table. On Thursday, we made pilgrims' hat cookies. It was a fun chocolatey mess. I also enjoy doing these special activities, and we are enjoying introducing the activities to Yuly. For the pilgrims' hats, the girls were supposed to dip a marshmallow into some melted chocolate and place it on top of a cookie. The first marshmallow that Yuly dipped went straight into her mouth! By the time we were finished, the girls were on a sugar high and there was chocolate everywhere. It was a lot of fun.

Those cookies are adorable! Just wanted to let you know Mom & Dad have the frozen items that we had forgotten and are on their way home now. I'll email you their phone number tonight so you can arrange to meet up and get them.

Your girls look so sweet. That's great that the older two are such a help and it sounds like a good Thanksgiving for sure!
